 Problems with MT4 221 update
Solution Some subscribers are reporting issues with MT4 crashing on boot. This appears to be due to a conflict between the recent MT4 update and the EA's already setup in the terminal. It will occur after running the live update.

We are seeing this problem with the following brokers:

PBF Best
Go Trader

Possible: FXOpen

Steinitz EA is having problems with new MT4 update - do not update MT4 if you are running this EA until the publisher sends you an update.

Subscribers using these brokers are advised NOT to accept the live update. Instead, close the live update window.

This list will be updated as we receive more tickets.

The temporary solution:

copy the mt4 folder in c:\program files (x86) to a safe location
run the mt4 installer again. direct it to install into the same folder

in your backup from step #1, copy the *.srv files in /config to the mt4 folder. overwrite the files that are in there

start mt4
DO NOT accept live update - instead, close the live update window and continue trading.

the permanent solution:

Wait for an EA update from the publisher and update both at the same time.
