VPN Setup Guide for iOS

NOTE:  We strongly recommend the OpenVPN for iOS client is used on iOS devices, along with the Open VPN configuration files.  Although the method detailed below can be used to connect from your device, it uses preshared keys which is a security risk for some people.

The Open VPN Application for iOS can be found here.

OpenVPN configuration files can be found in the control panel.

Alternatively, here are setup instructions using a (public) preshared key.

From the iOS main screen, start the "Settings" application.

2.    Open "VPN" in "General" , and tap "Add VPN Configuration..." .
A new L2TP VPN connection setting will be created, and the configuration screen will appear.

3.    On this screen, you have to specify either hostname or IP address of the destination VPN Server.
Select the hostname for the data center that is nearest to your geographical location.

    vpn.la.commercialnetworkservices.net (Los Angeles)
    vpn.nyc.commercialnetworkservices.net (New York)
    vpn.uk.commercialnetworkservices.net (UK)

You also have to enter the user-name, password and secret (pre-shared key) on the iOS screen.
Username and password are located in the email you received following your vpn order.
    The pre-shared key is "vpnvpnvpn"

4.    Connect a VPN
